Our Story
Healthy Growth Foundation is a 501(c)(3). We believe that education is more than arts, math or science. We believe that integrity, generosity, consciousness, empathy and open mind are attributes that are important to succeed in life. That’s why we offer programs (developed with the help of youth and for youth) that promote these attributes and teach soft-skills (leadership, team work, communication, problem-solving and empathy, among others).
Healthy habits & Innovative Learning
One of our goals is to improve healthy habits in children. In collaboration with Arkuos (www.arkuos.org), IMFAHE Foundation (www.imfahe.org) and the support of the regional government of Taramundi, European Michelin Star Chefs (Pedro Martino and Xune Andrade) and experts in nutrition (in Spain) we have developed a program where we connect students from USA (pilot study at Broadmeadow School, Needham, MA) with students from Europe. Children have the opportunity to interact online and learn about regional and cultural nutritional recipes whereas they gain skills related to healthy eating, ecosystems responsible for organic production of products, innovation and sustainability. 1min video: https://youtu.be/XlWg-66yM6Q
Growing with empathy
Once a year, Healthy Growth Foundation raises money to help people in need. Funds are then used to buy healthy food plus other miscellaneous products and they are donated to Food pantries.
Open mindset
In a globalized economy, the need to communicate in more than one language is vital. Through conversations in a second language with other kids, they improve their communication skills and learn about other cultures. We started a pilot in Spanish and we are open to other languages.
